When it comes to recovery, the path to lasting sobriety isn’t always clear. There is no one right way to heal from addiction, and certain factors can influence how effective a certain program might be. This can make it tricky to determine the right level of care for you or your loved one, especially at the beginning of recovery or after a relapse.

At the Detox Center of Colorado, we’re here to help you figure it out. Most people know that detox will be necessary a step in the recovery process, but might be unsure of what to do next. To help clients and their families through the recovery process, we’ve created a Transitional Residence Program that prioritizes treatment planning and next-step care coordination. By providing in-depth information, comprehensive assessments and individualized recommendations tailored to each client’s needs, our team is here to support you or your loved one with high-end clinical services for a smooth transition into recovery.

Compared to traditional residential treatment, our Transitional Residence Program is a short-term program that focuses on post-detox stabilization and preparing clients for the next steps in their recovery. Our goal is to provide an accurate, informed picture of each client’s needs that allows us to recommend the level of care that’s right for them. By helping clients and their families navigate the recovery process, explore the available treatment options and coordinate care plans, the Detox Center of Colorado can establish a strong foundation for lasting recovery and overcome the barriers that may be holding you back.

After completing detox, many clients wonder what comes next. Detox is an essential part of the recovery process, but it isn’t effective on its own — lasting sobriety is built over time in a short or long-term treatment program that addresses the complex nature of addiction. That’s why we offer a Transitional Residence Program at Detox Center of Colorado, a unique approach to residential treatment that focuses on getting patients where they need to be. This short-term program gives us the opportunity to identify the needs of each patient and coordinate post-detox treatment for a smooth transition into a higher level of care. Throughout the process, our recovery teams work closely with patients and their families to assess their individual needs, identify treatment goals, begin financial planning and more to ensure that next steps are in place at the time of discharge.

  • Short-term stays of 10 to 20 days
  • 24/7 monitoring and live-in care
  • Emphasis on post-detox stabilization
  • Collaborate with treatment providers
  • Comfortable, home-like environment

Is The Transitional Residence Program Right for Me?

Whether clients have been to treatment before or this is their first time, the Detox Center of Colorado goes above and beyond to help each individual achieve long-term recovery. We provide in-depth, high-quality care and supervision that is ideal for both new clients and those who have recently relapsed and want to get back on track without a long-term stay. Our program also includes dual diagnosis care for clients with mental health concerns and provides support for those on medication-assisted treatment. Before discharge, our team will then recommend and coordinate the right level of care for each client, making this program appropriate for a wide range of clients regardless of where they’re at in their recovery.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

The Transitional Residence Program strongly emphasizes post-detox stabilization and treatment planning. Our goal is to get clients ready and excited to enter the next phase of their recovery, whether that be inpatient, PHP or another level of care. To accomplish this, a typical day for clients includes a balance of testing — psych evaluations, cognitive functioning and biosocial and spiritual assessments — and therapeutic activities that help identify treatment goals and prepare them for what comes next. Clients also participate in groups where they’ll learn more about the recovery process and what it looks like to know what to expect going forward. Some of the techniques we use include:

  • Comprehensive evaluations
  • Treatment planning
  • Individual and group therapy
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Psycho-ed
  • Continuum of recovery education
  • Groups on what to expect from recovery
  • Chemical dependency education
  • Medication management and compliance

When clients are ready, they’ll begin treatment planning with their recovery team and explore care options so they’re ready for a smooth transition into an appropriate program. We know there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to addiction treatment, so recommendations are highly-customized and based on individual assessments. Clients and their families will also participate in the planning and coordination of care to ensure the right fit.

Unlike other facilities, the Detox Center of Colorado provides a cozy, secure environment with all of the comforts of home — and then some. Instead of a sterile, hospital-like setting, we provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the Denver area where clients can feel safe and supported. Complete with modern amenities and 24/7 monitoring for optimal comfort and safety, we’ve created a space that helps ease the adjustment period and allows clients to relax and focus on their recovery.
