The Detox Center of Colorado is much more than just a detox facility. It’s a safe landing place where patients can take a step back from their daily lives, begin to heal from addiction and decide what comes next on their journey toward a life free from drugs or alcohol.  To provide patients with the comprehensive care and individualized treatment plans they need to regain stability and balance in their lives, we’ve created an intimate, 8-bed facility in the Rocky Mountains designed to promote deep and lasting healing.

The Detox Center of Colorado was founded to expand our ability to help those struggling with addiction. By bringing together high-level care, an experienced medical team and numerous addiction experts, we are able to provide patients with the quality treatment and attention they deserve under one roof. This also ensures that each individual has a safe, positive and comfortable experience as they rid their bodies of drugs or alcohol and prepare for the next phase of recovery.

The Detox Center of Colorado provides subacute detox with the goal of stabilizing treatment-seeking patients so they may continue along their path of recovery. Our facility is equipped to help patients detox from all addictive substances, including:

  • Alcohol
  • Cocaine/Crack
  • Methamphetamine
  • Heroin and other opioids
  • Prescription drugs
  • Ecstasy/MDMA
  • Hallucinogens

During their stay with us, each individual receives a detailed assessment of their mental and physical health, substance use history and overall treatment progress. This allows our team of addiction specialists and medical personnel to understand your unique situation and ensure that you’re receiving the appropriate level of care. Detox is a deeply personal process and no two patients will have the same experience; a thorough evaluation of your needs, goals and expectations gives your team the opportunity to individualize your care and offer you treatment modalities, therapies and approaches that resonate with you.

What is Subacute Detox?

What is Subacute Detox?

What is Subacute Detox?

Detox programs vary in intensity similar to the way in which recovery programs offer different levels of care, depending on the severity of a patient’s addiction. At the Detox Center of Colorado, we provide subacute detox, which is designed for individuals who need professional intervention but don’t require a program that is excessively intrusive or restrictive. Subacute detox is often recommended for patients who:

  • Have already completed a rigorous inpatient detox
  • Have recently relapsed
  • Experience a co-occurring mental health disorder
  • Require medication-assisted detox
  • Need professional help to overcome uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms
  • Would benefit from a supervised detox program

Upon intake, each patient will be thoroughly evaluated to determine that subacute detox is the level of care that will provide them with the greatest chance of long-term recovery. We believe that placing a patient in the appropriate program is essential to ensuring a successful experience. A subacute detox program that provides only the levels of care you need makes the process substantially easier by focusing on your specific medical needs and emotional challenges. Subacute detox doesn’t exclude more intensive treatments, but only utilizes them when required for your comfort and safety. Individuals should have the opportunity to receive care in a setting that makes sense to them without being overwhelming, intimidating or prohibitive. This facilitates deeper engagement with the treatment program and helps to ensure a positive outcome. In subacute detox, patients receive the support, guidance and monitoring they need to heal without being subjected to unnecessary steps, procedures or services.

Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders

Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders

Individuals struggling with addiction often experience co-occurring mental health disorders at the same time. Known as a dual diagnosis, the presence of a psychiatric concern may complicate the recovery process. Individuals undergoing detox typically experience a variety of uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms, which often include depression, anxiety, irritability and confusion. For those with a dual diagnosis, these symptoms can worsen existing mental health concerns and make the process more difficult. In order to truly heal from addiction, dual diagnosis patients require specialized care that addresses their mental health needs and empowers them to move toward long-lasting, sustainable sobriety.

At the Detox Center of Colorado, our highly experienced clinical team is uniquely qualified to address the needs of patients with co-occurring disorders. We provide individualized care tailored to each patient and employ a variety of effective treatments, therapies and modalities designed to help those with mental health disorders manage the various aspects of recovery. Our integrative approach includes psychotherapies, holistic treatments, medication management, individualized attention and more. The goal is to help patients learn new ways to cope with their symptoms, establish healthy habits and stabilize their mental health, so they are better prepared to transition into short or long-term residential treatment once they’ve completed detox.
